I believe that everything has a reasonable answer that humans can experiment with and even recreate (eg halo lighting), but there are some situations out there that can be bent to include the implauseable or improbable (eg. big foot). This is where I see Fantasy Writers have their forte. They are able to take somthing we can closely relate to that we are able to see it with clarity and make it work on a certain level our selves, with a tonne of imgaingation thrown in.
It's like taking out the periodic table and solely relying on the elements petagram (earth, water, fire, wind and lighting).
For example, I've recently come across a series on ABC2 (Australia) called 'Being Human'. In one episode we are made to watch the transformation of a werewolf on his full moon, and over the top of his painful screams we hear the narrator (Tully) scientifically breakdown the transformation, aptly discribing the stage by stage process.
"... [h]e has what looks like a 'heart attack' ... as his body breaks down and reconstructs its self ... he should have died already but his body won't let him ... the healing power of the werewolf ..."
This is how we closely understand the persons pain during transformation, whats happening to him and almost feel it ourselves. Well anyone who's had bone reconstruction surgury certainly would.
But then again what constitutes as logical really depends where you come from.
In Indiana, if a child cannot ennounce their words properly they send them to a priest to be exorcised where someone in New York would just send the kid to a doctor, phsycologist, therapist and one kickass expensive school.
In Sydney, the Concerned Relative in her high rise Kirabilli apartment would pale with astonishment when the Black Stumper from Dunedoo tells her proudly that she had just finnished liberally spreading her 'super'.
Either way, without misunderstandings at some point would anything new really pop up out of no where? Think of all the inventions and story's that came out of misunderatnding the Celts and Picts. I dunno, i'm kinda glad the tower of Babel burned down. Is that what happened? Or is there a more logicall explination?
Beh, never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Like Robert Smith & "The Cure," I defy most classifications.

I'm currently taking a Journey to the West. Very far West. So far to the West it would probably be much shorter to just go East, instead. Whatever, I've got time.
I've relatives in state called "Washington" who have offered to buy Me a plane ticket there, which makes My journey to New Orleans slightly easier. I'll probably get sick of being homeless there after a week or four & go somewhere else.

"according to all known laws of aviation there is no way a bee should be able to fly. a bees wings are too short and their bodies too fat. bees, of course, fly anyway, because bees dont care what humans think is impossible."
